The Ripple Effect of Service
I’ve long valued working for companies that prioritize giving back. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of planning corporate financial commitments and designing generous benefit programs that included paid time off for employees to serve non-profit organizations in their communities.
Standout moments in my career came from hearing colleagues share stories about their service days. Whether they were stocking shelves at food banks, multi-tasking at animal shelters, cleaning up litter at local parks, or knitting baby blankets for families in need, their efforts were both impactful and inspiring. Discovering the personal reasons behind their choice of cause or organization brought us closer together, deepening our sense of connection.
Similarly, I enjoy exploring company websites and social media to learn about other organizations’ service initiatives. These stories highlight the many ways businesses can make a difference.
Giving back was a key driver when I developed Horace Street Consulting’s business plan. Now one year in, I’m pleased to share that more than 75% of the firm’s net profits have been donated to nonprofits aligned with the Spirit of Horace Street, focusing on:
Creating safe, inclusive spaces for kids to live, learn, and play.
Driving impactful community engagement.
Honoring and preserving nature.

I’ve been impacted time and again by the ripple effect that thoughtful giving creates. By sharing here, I hope to inspire others to give their time, resources, or financial support to causes that align with their values.
